Local evidence and strategies in addressing NCDs Non-Communicable Diseases in Tanzania
Collection launched: Nov 17, 2023
The burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) is increasing at an unprecedented rate globally, particularly in low and middle-income countries (LMICs). This epidemiological transition in resource-constrained countries requires immediate locally driven interventions, informed policies, and interventions to counteract the drivers of the burden. This series presents efforts by Tanzania in facing the surge of NCDs. These efforts may inform other countries with similar burdens or contexts in setting up or strengthening their national and sub-countries' response against the rising burden of NCDs. In Tanzania, NCDs alone account for more than 31-34% of premature deaths.
